Course Type: Applied Blended Challenge (ABC) Program
These are blended credit-bearing programmes using a challenge-based pedagogical approach. They involve a minimum of one mobility week and are open to students from all ACE²-EU Alliance members. The main aim is to work collectively on solutions for real-world challenges identified by external stakeholders relevant to EU priorities.
Duration and Timeline
- Total workload: 10 hrs. synchronous online, 25 hrs. onsite + 55 hrs. independent and group work
- Online: 17-19 November 2025, 15:00-17:00 CEST and 12 December 2025, 10:00-12:00 CEST
- On-site: 01-05 December 2025 – Targu Jiu, Romania
Award, Credits and Certification
On successful completion, participants receive 3 ECTS credits and a certificate of attendance.

Course Description and Learning Objectives
This course develops skills, understanding, and attitudes for interacting effectively and respectfully with people with disabilities, particularly those with neuropsychological conditions. Students engage in service-learning and project-based activities addressing real-life community challenges to promote inclusion, tolerance, and well-being of individuals with disabilities.
The programme includes:
- Online sessions: interactive learning on sustainable development, human rights, neurodiversity, disability, inclusive education, and universal design frameworks.
- Onsite sessions: practical engagement at Day Centres and Centres for Inclusive Education, hands-on activities, case study analysis, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Reflection and dissemination: workshops, awareness campaigns, and mini-projects to reinforce learning and community engagement.
Specific learning objectives:
- Understand the needs of vulnerable people, focusing on neurological disabilities.
- Promote an inclusive society (“Society for All”) by educating and empowering future professionals.
- Adopt a multidisciplinary perspective for holistic support.
By the end of the course, students will be able to:
- Understand key concepts in sustainable development, human rights, neurodiversity, and inclusive education.
- Apply Universal Design and Universal Design for Learning principles.
- Recognize and evaluate accessibility options and assistive technologies.
- Implement Person-Centered Planning and User-Centered Design approaches.
- Communicate effectively using adapted and augmentative communication techniques.
- Collaborate in multidisciplinary teams for integrated support solutions.
- Plan and deliver inclusive educational and social activities.
- Disseminate knowledge through workshops, campaigns, and collaborative projects.
